Message Japan does not average MON and RON ratings as we do in US...Japan simply goes by the RON system....

RON numbers are about 8 to 10 points higher than MON....we average MON and RON, so essentially a 97 gas in Japan is close to a 93 gas here....

example:
if MON = 87
and if RON = 97

In japan you get 97 octane gas (RON)... but in America, that is equal to (87+97)/2, or in other words 97 octane gas in Japan is the same as 92 octane in America
